High quality ox/cattle gallstones:

Gallstones look like stones of various shapes and colours.

Two main shapes : egg-shaped or pyramid-shaped.
Two distinct colours : Orange brown, or dark brown close to brownish black.

Some gallstones can be as big as a hens-egg (whose weight can reach 100 grs), but the average gallstone will be more likely the size of a pigeon's egg, weighing around 10 grams.

Localization

Gallstones develop inside a number of bovines, mainly depending on their age and diet.

They are essentially located in the gallbladder.

The bovine race is quite diverse. It includes, depending on the countries: cows, oxen bulls, buffalos, zebus, bison's, yaks, gaurs...

Uses

Ox gallstones are used in the pharmacopeia.

They are used in medical formulas because of their sedative, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic properties.

They are in particular used for treatments of hepatic problems

Product description
After extracting the gallstones from the cattle's intestines they have to be washed thoroughly with cold water to remove blood clots, impurities etc. After washing they are dried for two to three weeks in a dark and well ventilated environment at a temperature of approx. 20 degrees Celsius. The stones have to be moved regularly for better drying and to avoid them sticking at each other. After full drying the stones are packed in hermetically sealed bags.

Quality and Classification

  • Especially high demand exists for gallstones with following properties: of light yellow, golden or orange colour.
  • Stones that are well-dried
  • Large stones
  • Bilirubin content not below 35%
  • Dark stones will also be bought but for significantly lower prices


The stones are traded in the following specifications:

  • 100% Whole stones
  • 90% Whole stone/ 10% broken stone
  • 80% Whole stone/ 20% broken stone
  • 70% Whole stone/ 30% broken stone
  • 60% Whole stone/ 40% broken stone
  • 100% Gallstone powder/sand


Stones must have a natural odor of cattle, that are healthy and free from mad cow disease. Liver stones, kidney stones, bile tubes, moldy stones, bloodstones, cholesterol stones, such as any form of stones from other animals will NOT be bought!

Delivery

The delivery occurs after ordering and upon agreement of contract requirements through FedEx.

According to the clients wish, the delivery will be accompanied by following documents:

  • Certificate of origin
  • Certificate over BSE-Freedom
  • Health Certificate
  • Analysis Certificate (performed by German laboratory)
  • Trade receipt


For Gallstones originating from Brazil following documents are added in:

  • Description of the manufacturing process
  • Result log of bacteriological inspection

Delivery Capacity

Delivery concerns units of 1-5 kg per delivery. The monthly amount might vary and is orientated by season and demand.
